Type 2 and Loosing Weight

How can I gain weight on a sugar free diet?

Some foods can help you to gain weight without causing big rises in your blood glucose (sugar) levels. These include foods high in: Protein, such as meat, fish, chicken, legumes, eggs, nuts and full-cream dairy foods. Energy, such as margarine, avocado, nut butters, oil and salad dressing.

How to gain weight with type 2 diabetes

If you have type 2 diabetes, it is particularly important for you to keep strong and have a healthy body weight as you get older.

Talk to a doctor, diabetes educator or Accredited Practising Dietitian if you are unsure about your weight. The following ideas can help if you need to gain weight.

Diabetes Returned

Unfortunately recently due to the Covid situation, I have not been taking the exercise that I previously did. Plus I did not control my eating.  Stupid really.

We had moved our home and have a new doctor. My first appointment with the Diabetes Nurse is on the 20th October 2021.  Unfortunately our previous Doctor in Chelmsford had not been keeping up with my condition. The last time I was given lancelets was 2016. Our new doctors wouldn't give me a prescription because they were not on my list.  So I purchased what I needed from Amazon.

My mmol/l is getting higher. Now running at 7.6 and I am loosing weight. I do still have these little blue tablets issued in 2016, so I am reluctant to take them.

Diabetes 2 Final Report

I can report in February 2020 due to keeping to my strict diet, I have been free from the symptoms of diabetes for a year now. I can now take cakes in moderation. Everything in moderation.

It's difficult to get my doctor to sign it off but i have no symptoms at all.

I take daily a product to manage cholesterol levels called "Better Cholesterol" as sold by "Young Again" an American supplements outlet.

Diet and Lifestyle

This is my first post here since 2015. Since then my life got very busy and I just did not have any time to make any contribution to any of my blogs including this one.

Last week I decided to republish my blog Eating@Home as we were entertaining friends and I was looking for a recipe of a cake we had not baked since that time of being diagnosed with Diabetes 2.

This got me into updating a post from 2015 and re-titling it Free from Diabetes 2?

Over 2015 up till today I have been following a strict diet as outlined in the article on this blog called  Reverse type 2 diabetes

Please find below the outcome of my sticking to a strict diet and healthy lifestyle:

First of all I must add much to my doctors displeasure I stopped taking STATINS after my research and posting Statins may increase the risk of diabetes

Checking back at this blog there are quite a few suggestions about eating and way of life I actually followed. Please click on and read for yourself.

HANGRY?

why do some people get grumpy when they’re hungry?

This is not directly to do with diabetes, but as you read it, you can see the link. I had been suffering with what is called HANGRY. My father also had it for as long as I remember. So I am now wondering if I had had diabetes much longer than I was diagnosed. Also did my father have diabetes during his life and it was missed by the doctors.

This article goes a long way in explaining what happens when blood sugars raise or get too low.

Reverse type 2 diabetes?

Reversing type 2 diabetes can be achieved through weight loss, getting regular exercise and eating a diabetes-friendly diet.

This is not easy to do, but remission from type 2 diabetes enables you to come off your medication, which is a massive accomplishment for anyone.

Travelling with diabetes

For people with diabetes, travelling involves many more considerations than for those without the condition.
